Cruising

Currently Kai is sitting in his high chair smearing soggy teething cracker around his face. When he isn't eating up a storm he is very, very busy. Now that he is walking life is a whole new adventure. He is still into speed crawling as much as his slightly unstable walking, but his step count is going up every day. Watching his development every day fills us with pride. Last night we went out for dinner and he was so well behaved. Towards the end of the meal he started flirting with a couple older ladies at the next table. He was chatting them up and wooing them with his squintiest smile. Usually he's kind of shy, but he really came out of his shell for these women.

Life in Crested Butte is going well. There has been fresh snow on the peaks every few days and the foliage is on its last leg. Up high the leaves are gone, but downtown they are peaking. The Aspen are golden and swaying in the fall weather. The buzz is all about when there will be enough snow to ski and snowboard. The kids at school are starting to get the twitch being so close to winter induces. Those that are not invested in soccer or volleyball have it the worst - it is just a waiting game until nature decides to unload.

Katie is doing well. She is busy taking care of the baby boy and working a few nights a week. She is healthy and happy and feeling normal after the first trimester comes to a close. Her aversion to vegetables seems to be passing and she is back to "feeling like herself." Family life is the greatest.
