On the Move

Kai has made some great strides in the locomotion department. He can crawl, climb the stairs, and pull himself into the standing position using legs, furniture, and almost anything stable he can get his hands on. He is also more likely to fall from greater heights or into furniture. It is a new realm for Katie and I. Kai is in daycare and learning to play with other kids and be in a very dynamic environment. One of his teachers said if there was one word to sum Kai up, it would be "Action." He is a very busy little guy.

Katie and I have been having a nice summer. She has been busy with her business and I have been busy at school. We do a lot of trade offs. In fact yesterday we did a mountain biking trade off in Gunnison. We dropped Katie off at Hartman's and she rode for a couple hours while Kai and I did some errands in town, then we switched it out and I rode. Kai didn't get to ride, but he did really well cruising town.

Tomorrow is our second wedding anniversary. My how things change in such a short amount of time. We live in a new home, have a baby boy, and my school is now in a new place with new owners. Katie is an experienced mother now. So many changes have taken place, but the core - our relationship - is still the same. We bicker and disagree, but everyday is still a blessing. I still love waking up next to Katie. I love hearing Kai playing in his crib on the monitor and getting to see his first smile of the day, too. Anyhow, its all pretty good in the hood around here.
