Summer
Summertime in Crested Butte is in full swing. From the 4th of July parade (check flickr for more shots), to daily afternoon rain showers, to the kids roaming the streets in packs on their bikes, it's on.
Today I rode an epic that I had no idea was going to take place. Golf course to Upper to Tony's into town. Crossed town and rode Upper Lower Loop to the Oh-Be-Joyful bonus, then out Slate River Road and up L'Alpe D'Huez to 403. Took 403 to 401 (also sometimes known as 804) back to the Upper Loop, golf course, and home. I know that doesn't mean anything to anyone who has not ridden these trails, but its fun to rattle off all the names. I just kept following whims and tacking more stuff on until I was out of food and pretty tired. A beautiful day for a mission.
All is going well with Katie. She is healthy and happy and the baby is very active. Her friend Becky is here from AK, so they are out hiking while I wallow in internetville. We just got internet hooked up here, which means I haven't had my fix since we sold our place in Riverbend. Tragic. But I'm ok now. It's nice to have company around. Katie and I have been making a point to have friends over more often. We watched the fireworks from our yard last night with a posse from the old neighborhood. All good in the hood.
